The Las Vegas Raiders are going to roll into the 2024 season with an entirely new regime leading the way.

The Raiders did the right thing by promoting Antonio Pierce to become their new head coach and bringing in former Los Angeles Chargers general manager Tom Telesco to rebuild the roster. So far, Piece and Telesco have shown they want to build a tough and physical team that overwhelms opponents on both sides of the field.

Meanwhile, Davante Adams should remain the focal point of the offense despite a down year by his standards in 2023. Adams will turn 32 years old near the end of the 2024 campaign but has shown he has plenty left in the gas tank.

While players wait to report for training camp later this offseason, Adams made an appearance on Maxx Crosby’s podcast The Rush with Maxx Crosby to discuss a variety of topics including who the star receiver has on his Mount Rushmore of wideouts:

“And then top-four receivers, we got Randy (Moss) is the greatest,” Adams said. “You got Jerry Rice. Those two you can’t say anything about. If I’m only doing four, I got to say Calvin (Johnson) and I gotta say…I’mma go T.O. (Terrell Owens).”

Normally, people will point to Jerry Rice as the GOAT receiver, but Adams instead goes with Randy Moss, who was a legend in his own right. Between Rice and Moss, there’s no debate that those two belong in the conversation for the greatest receiver of all time, though Calvin Johnson and Terrell Owens are on the fringes of the debate.

It’s hard to compare players from different eras, but Adams has a lot of respect for the players he named as he grew up watching them dominate the field during their primes. Rice, Moss, Johnson and Owens all had different play styles but found ways to be just as impactful for their respective offenses.

When Adams decides to finally hang his cleats, he should be mentioned in the same breath as his picks for his Mount Rushmore as he was considered the best in the league for a few years.

Raiders sign former Chargers receiver Jalen Guyton

Aside from Adams, Las Vegas’s wide receiver room also includes players like Jakobi Meyers, Michael Gallup and Tre Tucker. Telesco understood that the offense could use a little extra firepower, so he signed Jalen Guyton in free agency.
